Let me talk to you for a second—not as someone who has it all figured out, but as someone who’s been through some battles and still shows up every day. I live with epilepsy. That’s not just a word to me—it’s a part of my reality. It’s waking up some days unsure if your body will cooperate. It’s those moments when everything goes black and you come back feeling like a stranger to your own mind. It’s exhaustion, embarrassment, fear, and frustration all rolled into one. And yet, I’m still here. Still standing. Still chasing something bigger than the struggle.
There were days when I wanted to quit. Really quit. Days when I thought, “What’s the point? Why keep pushing if life keeps knocking me flat?” But here’s the truth I’ve learned: only quitters give up when things get hard. And I’m not a quitter. If you’re reading this—whether you’re a student trying to figure out where you belong, or a member of staff balancing life’s pressures with your purpose—I want you to hear me: you’re not a quitter either.
You see, it’s not about pretending life is easy. It’s about refusing to let the hard moments define you. I’ve had seizures in public. I’ve had to rebuild confidence after losing control in front of others. I’ve had dreams delayed, plans interrupted, and people underestimate me. But the fire inside? That never stopped burning. Because deep down, I know I have something to offer—and so do you.
My goal is simple: I want to speak. I want to connect. I want to walk into rooms filled with people from all walks of life and say, “I get it.” Whether you’re the one cleaning the halls late at night, the teacher grading papers after hours, or the student feeling like they don’t fit in—I want to remind you that your story matters. Your struggles aren’t weaknesses. They’re part of what makes you strong.
I believe we all have a place, even when it feels like we’re wandering. I believe in fighting for that place—even when it hurts. Epilepsy might be part of my life, but it doesn’t get to write the ending. I do. And so do you. The hardest times? They’re not the end of the road. They’re the part of the journey that builds your voice, your strength, your purpose.
So don’t give up when things get tough. Fight through. Stand back up. Find your place—even if it takes time. Because you’re not alone, and you were never meant to quit.
We keep going.
